As Telford & Wrekin’s only further education college, Telford College plays an important role in supporting local communities to thrive, working closely with local and regional employers.
It has the widest range of courses in the area, from A levels and Apprenticeships to T-Levels, university-level modules, and a wide range of vocational programmes.
Telford College also runs the largest Sixth Form in the area, with a curriculum which is constantly growing and evolving.
From September 2026, A levels are being delivered from a brand-new Telford 6th building in the heart of the town centre’s Station Quarter.
The self-contained setting, conveniently located close to public transport services, has state-of-the-art science labs for physics, biology and chemistry, a drama studio, arts studio, bespoke library for learners, and much more.
Investment in new technology at Telford 6th includes 25 new 86-inch digital interactive screens, 240 laptops, 40 wi-fi access points and £350,000 on furniture, including 526 classroom chairs and 468 desks.
Telford 6th complements the wide range of courses on offer at the college’s Wellington campus, where training has a more practical, hands-on focus.
Principal and chief executive Lawrence Wood said: “Everything we have invested in at Telford 6th, from the labs to the studios, the technology in every classroom and a library designed around how sixth formers actually learn, is about matching the ambition of the young people this centre has been built for.”
He added: “It is our job to ensure students have the best possible experience at college, and to do all we can to support them to achieve during their time with us.
“Our staff are highly experienced and experts in their fields, committed to doing all they can to support students to achieve.
“Our partnerships with employers play an important part in the way we design and deliver the curriculum, backed up by significant investment in resources and facilities.
“We are setting people up with the skills they need – not just technical skills, but soft skills around communication and teamwork too.”
